Farm Fusion
- We need your stories! We love to hear both your fiction and non-fiction stories! If you'd like to write about things here on the farm, here are some ideas from this week's Farm News:
- The blue egg layers just started laying their eggs! What do you think the other hens think about these pretty eggs?
- If the weather is nice next week, the emus will come and run and play on the farm! What do you think the other animals will think of these odd creatures? Do you think they'll fit in?
- In class, you learned that female emus are like the "roosters" of emus. They do lay the eggs, but then their job is to guard and protect while the male emus sit on the nest and raise the chicks. We have not one, not two, but THREE females! Whoops! Write about what problems could arise if we kept all three!
- In class, I explained that we had an accident and broke two emu eggs. Sometimes, disappointing things happen. We talked about how, when bad things happen, it's never okay to lash out or act mean to others. Write about a time when you were disappointed. How did you react? Or, you can come up with a fictional story about a disappointing situation. See if you can have your characters learn to react in a healthy way.
Handwriting
- Please complete the next 3 pages in your handwriting book. Work on each letter! Remember to always, always, always start at the top for print!
- You can also work on your handwriting as you write your Farm Fusion stories. :-)
Science
- We ran short on time in a class, so it you didn't have a chance to complete the owl drawing, here is a link to the video we used!
- You guys learned a lot about owls in class! Here are some optional activities to do at home that correlate with our lessons.
