Last Day of Class - May 15th

Farm Fusion Journal Choose One:

  • Today's story is all about this RAIN!  Write a story that tells how the animals feel about it being so very wet this winter!  You can choose one animal and tell it from their point of view, or you can write it in story form.  Be creative!
  • ***GREAT NEWS!!!  Sammy Joe stood up and walked around today!!***

Language Arts

  • Study all of your grammar cards!  You did an AWESOME job in class!!
  • Here is a REALLY cool game called Parts of Speech Quest.  Read the directions and try to complete the quest on pronouns!  (HINT--- You need to add the pronoun "WHOM" to your pronoun list for this game!)
    • Parents, if you'd rather your child not play the game, just review/discuss pronouns in any way you'd like!

Geography
  • Look over the coloring sheets on Asia.  You can color them if you'd like!
  • Read through the sheet on INDIA.  Highlight anything you find interesting and we will talk about it in class!
  • Here is a website with even more info (and pictures) of India!
  • Choose any country from your coloring maps.  Write a PARAGRAPH that tells about the country.  We will share these in class.
  • Don't worry about the back page to your packet.... We will be doing the map sheets together in class!

Who Was Earnest Shackleton?

  • We have a big project on Ernest Shackleton!  In your folder, you have a long, skinny packet of paper.  You will be using it to create a story of either Ernest Shackleton's life OR Earnest Shackleton's expedition on the Endurance.  You'll need to learn about your subject first.  Then, jot down the things that you'd like to add to your story.  Next, draw a picture for each part of your story.  You have plenty of paper, so you can make more than one picture for each part if you'd like!  You can have a sentence or so above or underneath each picture.  Please do your best on these!  We will be creating a moving picture project in class, and I'd love these to be great!
    • Tip-- Don't use markers.  Use colored pencils or crayons.
    • Tip-- Please color these pictures to help them stand out!
    • Tip-- Write neatly and large enough to see it.
  • If you can, bring in a SHOEBOX!  We'll be decorating them and turning them into our "t.v. set" for our project!
  • Turn in your Who is Ernest Shackleton book on Monday!

Science

  • We've learned about non-flowering vascular plants, but what about flowering ones?  You'll be reading and watching videos about angiosperm.  If you think something might be important, make a note of it in your science notebook to help you remember!
  • Click here and read all about ANGIOSPERMS!
  • If possible, please bring in a clear, disposable water bottle to class.  We will be using them for a project!
