For 1/8/17

Grammar

·   Study your grammar cards!  You're doing a great job.  Keep it up!

·    In class, we used a color code and underlined the nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and articles in different sentences.  Add this sentence to your sheet and try to underline the words with the correct colors!

·  Small kittens happily purred.

Poetry

·     We are going to start a new poem, and it's a long one!  Don't worry about trying to learn it all... We are going to take baby steps!

·     This week, just read through the whole thing one time.  Then, focus only on the first stanza.  We will work on this one for quite a while!

Science

·     In your red folder you will find a science activity.  You have been learning about metamorphosis and the life cycle of a butterfly.  Follow the directions to complete the activity.

Handwriting

·   Complete pages 46-48

·    Be careful and take your time!  It's important to learn good habits now!

History-

·      Read through our new reading packet.

·      Complete your "Words to Know" activity.
  • Cut out the words and the picture squares.
  • Glue them to your words to know page.
  • Reread your new packet and think about these words in bold.  What do they mean?
  • Write short definitions under the flap for each word.
  • You can color it if you'd like!

  • PLEASE bring the reading packet and the Words to Know page back to class so we can add it to the pocket for your Plymouth Colony Booklet!
**We made a little Town Crier in class, and you will be writing what news you'd like for him to share on the inside of the little booklet.  When you bring these to class, we will take turns ringing the bell and calling all of the colonists to the village green to hear the latest news!

Journal-

·                 Tell us about your Christmas!  If you are doing this before Christmas, let us know what you are looking forward to and describe what Christmas is like for your family.  If you are writing this after Christmas, tell us all about your holiday!
