Farm Fusion Journal

  • We are going to be learning about the Ukrainian art in class on Monday. This form of art also is found in other European countries such as Poland and Russia.  Write a story about a chicken who laid a beautiful egg.  I'd love it if you could set your story in one of the European countries that we have studied!

Language Arts

We are going to be working on writing correct paragraphs in class.  We'll be working on paragraph writing from now until the end of the year!   (If you are already writing great paragraphs, we'll be working on complete essays that are made up of more than one paragraph!)
  • Please watch this BrainPOP video about paragraph writing.  Pay attention!!  If you get to the end and you don't know what they talked about... then you didn't really watch it and learn!
    • Try the "easy" or the "hard" quiz, depending on your age/grade!
  • EVERYONE brought in their adjective sheet!  Great job!
  • Here is a video to review adjectives.  He's ITALIAN!  :-)
  • Now, watch this one to give you a preview of our next part of speech: adverbs!

  • We talked about the life cycle of mosses and ferns in class, and you added a picture of the life cycle to your notebook.  Look over it to remind yourself of what we talked about!

    • If you haven't already started this page, you may want to actually cut them out, fold them, and paste them into your science notebook as "flaps".  If you already wrote on them, just bring them into class and we can glue them down a different way!

We will have a European culture day in class on Monday!  
Everyone can bring in a European food of your choice, tell about it and where its from, and we will celebrate!  (Remember... You are NOT allowed to stress out your parents over this.  Bring in a food if it works for your family!  Everyone please still bring in a lunch and water bottle.)

Valentine's Party - February 11th  (Decorate a shoe box at home and bring it in that day!)

We will head to Rock Eagle 4H Center (Eatonton, GA) on 4/25!  We will arrive in the morning and be taking group classes that relate to our science lessons this year.  Parents will be responsible for transportation or arranging transportation with another parent.  Permission slips and all information will be available soon!




Farm Fusion Journal Options (choose one)


  • You did an awesome job with your adjective paper!  In your journal this week, I'd like you to work on complete sentences, punctuation, capitalization, and handwriting.  
  • Choose ONE of the pictures below.  Carefully look at the people, animals, setting, and time period that you see and come up with your own story for the painting.  Write your story, and we will share them in class!

      • We are learning about the different ways to classify plants.  First, we will be learning about non-vascular plants like mosses and liverworts.  The fancy word for these are bryophytes.  They don't have seeds, but reproduce with spores.
